MS200 gudgeon pin removal

I have a low mileage MS200 with a sheared crank at the clutch end.

 

I want to use the piston and barrel to restore another MS200 with a worn barrel and piston.

 

I've got the donor stripped down, with the gudgeon pin clips off but...

what is the best way to get the gudgeon pin out?

 

Should it just tap out or does the piston need to be heated first. Just thought I'd get some advice before screwing up a decent 'history known' component.

It should just push out on a mild interference fit.

If it wont slide/push out maybe it has a small end nip up ?

Tree quip has done more saws I am sure so I would take his advice but I've used boiling water in the past on other pistons. Aluminium expands quicker than steel so the fit gets slacker. Just something to remember if your piston gudgen pin appears too tight.

Pushed out - needed a tiny tap on a drift.

 

Just gotta clean it all and do the swap.
