It is simple, but took several years of scrapped ideas to come up with a truly good top-of-the-tree friction tool. I should show a series of scrapped ideas sometime.

I'm sure you would like it and you know the benefit of less force on the rigging point. It won't give too much friction like the figure 8 and won't spin and put the rope into pigtails like when running through a figure 8.

Who's importing / retailing in UK, had a quick look at a couple of websites but didn't find much available or is it best to buy from treestuff?

I chanced it and had a look straight from your link! Good spot - £8.25!!

 

Is this another example of fairly standard available kit from (in this case a chandler - same is often true for generic rigging kit from crane & lifting outlets) where the item gets an 'arb' tag and a price uplift???

No, it should not have a higher Arb pricetag.

Actually, TreeKit should be getting them at a lower price from us.

 

Let me find an old thread maybe that explains the history so that I do not have to write it all again.
