I too have watched the progress on FB, how'd you handle the patch behind his left shoulder?

Cheers mate,

Chopped out the worst section and cut another piece to fit. Glued with polyurethane expanding glue and drilled and pegged in place with hand made oak dowels. You can see the horizontal join at the side but from the front its an almost invisible mend.
