It will be interesting to hear what caused it to let go, 'tis an unfortunate thing to have happen on a new saw.

I would ask them to check it . If you dip your finger and thumb in and rub together you can usually tell if there is lube in there .

Hi

If there is any doubt then send me the numbers off the Aspen2 can but as they fill hundreds at a time the chance of one wrong can is very low.

Sounds like rings and or main oil seal fail to me.

Keep me posted and let me know if you need any help.

Kind regards

Eddie

Buzzing from the muffler? Possibly the piston fitted the wrong way round, ring caught in exhaust port and broke. Buzzing caused by piece of ring rattling around in exhaust?

Ring, piston shard or gudgeon pin circlip, either way, something has to physically jam to stop the piston in the cylinder.

Well, I got my new 365 on Friday. It was a pig to start straight off. When I finally got it going, it cut four 12" rounds before stalling. Started again, eventually, with a buzzing from the muffler. Loss of power, bogged, stalled. When I went to start it again, the starter was seized solid.

Took it back to the dealer first thing this morning. They managed to free the starter but the thing's dead as a doornail. Replacement on the way...

HI MOOR when you return to the dealers did they not hand you a new saw then how long are you with out a saw then i think you would been better to put this up as they have not give you a new saw yet :lol:but that may be just me thanks jon

Hi Jon,

They're getting me a brand new one first thing tomorrow, so it isn't a big hassle in the grand scheme of things. Sod's Law in full effect, though!
