I am the boss.

That's why I'm allowed to use my phone.

Bloody funny all the same!

Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

Cant argue with that!

Also wouldnt dare to argue about phone use. or the fact people are paid to work from start to finish there 8 hour day or whatever it may be, not arrive at 8 on the dot and be heading for the gate at 5, that was about the first thing I learnt back when you could ony call or txt from a phone

Mark has an app to control his climbers from his iPhone.

Some people still live in the dark ages using climbers capable of independent thought. These are the ones who smoke and eat cake on their gentle stroll back from the chipper. Makes me sick.

On a serious (rare) note, well done pal. Very few industries like this. Take Stubby, in the golden years of his lifelong career and still enthusiastic about it.

Work hard and be polite, if you ever find yourself not doing something, ask. There will be something to do :).

Good luck!

There's always the sweeping up to do ;) Just look busy, you'll be fine and don't think anything is beneath you. The day goes quicker when you're doing something.

Agree with all of the above. I'm 48 and if I went for a job today, most folk would think i'm too old.

But i've got other qualities. I don't care that it's raining. I'm reliable and take responsibility. So be happy that you're buggering about with a chainsaw all day. What did I see on a T shirt? "If your man can't run a chainsaw, you've got yourself a bitch".

And stay off the phone. Well done, cobber.

After leaving a cushy job green keeping for a private school, to work for a tree company, I stumbled into the bath, hung my head in my hands, and asked myself what I had done?

3 years on and I love my job, I've gone from ground work to climbing primarily, I strive to improve myself and couldn't imagine another line of work.

Stick with it and don't get downhearted!
