But with the £40k/year per wind turbine the landowner doesn't have to invest any money. The wind farm developer just rents a small square of land and gives the landowner rent. There's absolutely no investment from the landowner.

 

Nice work if you can get it...

 

Not quite as easy as that unless you want a massive tax bill.

I cleared the forest roads there a few years ago - interesting place. Patrick Sellar cleared the whole area a while before I got there.... The house sites are still there. If you come from the south (most people do) the entrance is up at Syre village but if you're feeling brave and river's not in spate there is a ford down near Dalharrold.

Do you know if the power lines go anywhere near the site. Have been having difficulty trying to establish how easy it would be to connect the site into the grid.

There's a power line running up the road from Altnaharra to Syre. There is a house and steading at Dalharrold which I would imagine had power at some point - the house may still be connected I don't Know - it's been a while since I was there.

 

 

Do you know whether its an 11kv line or a 33kv line. The only power line I can find is up to Dounray and its to big to get a grid connection.
