Wootton Bassett recognition

I think Wootton Bassett deserve recognition for their show of respect for servicemen killed in conflict overseas.

I find it quite moving that a small place can put on such a show and have done so for every serviceman killed in action that has been flown back home via RAF Lyneham.

I'm sure it would happen in any village or town throughout the UK but big respect goes out to Wootton Bassett and I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

Well said mate. I wish more people showed the respect the lads deserve when they bring them back home. I've got a few mates who are still serving and from what they tell me there are a lot of wounded blokes coming back they need the support of the British people.

I'm doing a 50 miler for the 'help for heroes' charity in August, when I get the sponsorship sorted out, I'll post it on here. I just feel I should do something to help these fellas.

I was reading on the MOD website that the Queen has created a new honour for the families of those who have fallen on active service since 1948 called the Elizabeth Cross; I know that groups of people such as the population of malta can be awarded the George Cross, maybe the town of Wooton Bassett could be awarded the Elizabeth cross for what they have done?
