Has anyone ever fitted new pinion gears to the hedgecutting head on a HL85 longreach hedgecutter? (0-90 degree)

I cant figure out how to get the one out of the part that goes on the pole that the driveshaft goes into?

Thanks

Jim

If one set of gears has failed the other will go quickly after its been fixed resulting in a waste of time and money. Last time i priced the gears up a couple of years ago they were £120 plus vat and i wouldn't do it with patten parts. Ive done a few in the past but its just not worth it, with parts and labour costs it comes in at more than a new unit. As previously said its not worth doing.

Everyones economics are different. That is not in question, but I appreciate the help that has been pm'd to me

Thanks

Jim

I respect your opinion, but the gears only come as a set at £161plus vat and there are no pattern parts as far as I know.

Unless you have an alternative supply its really not worth doing, an extra £30 gets you a new unit.
