Thinking of selling - what is my landy worth? Opinions please

Hi all,

I started a proper job as an employee in Feb, and since then my Landy 110 tipper is somewhat underused, it's nice to have for the occasional job at the weekend but I'm considering selling it and getting an L200 or similar double cab, as most of the jobs I do now don't involve taking waste away.

I know what I would want for it, but just want to get a few opinions on what you think it's worth as it's quite a unique one to price! I'm not putting this up as an ad so please don't contact me about that, it will be on Arbtrader with newer pictures than the ones below when I'm ready for it to go. If this thread is breaking any rules or inapproriate, please let me know :001_smile:

G reg 110 tipper conversion - 200tdi engine out of a Discovery fitted by previous owner

On 160,000 miles but this probably doesn't correspond to the engine at least, and probably a lot of the rest!

Tipper body is off an ex army 110 dropside truck, ram etc off a Transit.

MOT next week, so sold with full 12 months, 6 months tax

Good things: New alternator, starter, prop shafts, steering colum, probably some other things I've forgotten. 4 good General Grabber AT2 tyres, nearly new on the front & half worn or so on the back. Been serviced every 6000 miles since I got it on 90,000 not a clue before then. Looks relatively smart for a 24 year old truck!

Bad: Doors need attention, especially windows as they don't wind. Not the neatest inside the cab, but I've seen many worse! There seems to be a problem with the electrics on the engine temperature guage, so when you put headlights/wipers/heater on the gauge goes up. Not very fast, probably top speed of 55mph or so.

So baiscally I think it's mechanically pretty sound, but let down a bit by the usual old Landy cosmetic issues. Thoughts?

H Joe, sounds like the electric issue is with the earth strap from the back of the engine to the bulk head - easy fix!

Not sure what it's worth sorry, I'd have thought the condition of the chassis is important.

Simon from Coinros asked if I'd be interested😀

Cheers

Mark

Somewhere between £1000-£3000 depending on how you sell it, who your buyer is, how much more patching it'll take before it's beyond fixing, how good a conversion job was done etc.

If it's a good runner have you considered selling the tipper and turning it back into a double cab or station wagon? Might work out to be a more feasible way to spend money and it'll be a lot cooler than a L200.
