Ideas why I'm getting hot air through vents on car?

Hi all, not a big bad Unimog, but a seat Alhambra. Often even just five minutes after starting from cold I get hot air through the vents on my car. Will be great in winter, but this is happening even with the temperature knob set on cold. It's an intermittent issue, and sometimes when it happens the temperature indicator on the dash goes a touch above its normal 1/2 way point.

If I turn the air con on it still comes through icy cold, so I don't think it's a case of the temperature knob being stuck on hot.

Any suggestions? Slightly concerned it could be an indication of something serious like hgf or heater matrix problems.

Thanks in advance

Kev

You probably have two hoses going through the bulkhead from engine bay into front of dash. If both are hot could be leaking through heater valve.

Remove the scuttle panel ^^ and u will see what he's ^^ talking about

If Seat is anything like Fiat, you can't turn the heater/cooler right off. If it's set to cold but off, there's always cold air that comes through, just not blasted through by fan. And if it's set to hot but off, there's always hot air that comes through, just not blasted through by fan.

Another possible, is that your rheo stat is on its way out.
