My old Dad has a brick planter that is north facing and in shade all year round . There are winter flowering pansies ( I think they are ) that flower all year round .....

Took a hedge out this week and noticed a pigeon getting rather aggravated the closer we got to its nest so checked the nest and found two chicks never seen it this late before.

Woodies are at it all year round .

Primrose will flower all through winter if it's not too severe. There are winter varieties.

It's not a 'bought in', it's a hedgerow flower. Not sure if that makes a difference? It's just that I associate walking the lanes and seeing the primroses in the Spring... The start of the new season....

The power of the internet! Shared knowledge with people you may never have met under normal circumstances.

How's that little one of yours getting on chap, I haven't seen that thread for a while, it was heart wrenching to hear what happened. I hope you're all on the mend.
