Hey there!

Have a yard but not secure and need a machine that is portable to take off and on the van to split wood in large amounts?

anything that is quicker then axeing?

Also any idea on the same but with getting wood chip on the back of the van without hiring a machine?

A splitter will need to be powered, assuming you have no electric on site then really you are left with a towable splitter with an integral engine and hydraulic system. Others here will be better able to advise on brands/models etc.

Wont be that fast though, are you looking to do this for home use or for onward sale.

I have the exact same situation.

I had an old chipper with a good chassis and wheels. Removed the shoot and feeder. And have welded a splitter to it. Runs off red and hellish powerful. I can tow it back to secure site after use.

A few lads I know run home made splitters essentially a girder with a ram attached and it's powered buy a hydraulic power pack. I'd look down that route if I was in you. Best thing is you can stick it in your shed once your finished
