Stihl battery top handle or Echo???

Im looking for a top handled saw.

 

I am leaning towards the echo as it is considerably cheaper than the Stihl and the Husky and gets some really great reviews.

 

My dilemma is that I have the Stihl battery trimmer and basically I am wondering if I should look at the Stihl battery top handled chain saw?

 

Sooo to summerise

 

Still battery top handled chain saw or the Echo????????

Which ever you chose, the Echo cs360t is the best of the Echo top handled range, & I chose mine over other brands, not on price but build quality.

Your question is a different kettle of fish, I would, having used both saws you are looking at, go for the petrol saw if most of your work involves cuts over 125mm, but if you are doing light pruning work predominantly, the battery saw is a nice thing.

 

I'm sure there will be differing opinions on this.

I can guarantee that which saw I settle for from the two mentioned I will wish or circumstances shall change.

 

1. I buy the Echo CS360t and then my work will be light pruning stuff.

2. I buy the Stihl battery saw and I will tick and wine that it is not powerful enough!

You need a petrol saw for your primary saw, no question about it

Considering following you I bought the 540 after great performance from my 560, however the 540, I have, needs constant (almost daily) use otherwise it takes five minutes of warming and gently coaxing to make it pick up to full revs without stalling. Quite frustrating to say the least. Otherwise great saw, but as we all know you need tools that do what they should when asked without dramatics! I think another echo will be joining the fleet followed by the stihl battery to reduce emission inhalation.

Perhaps I should have started a for and against petrol / Battery saw.

 

Steve I whole heartedly agree with you but there is just something that attracts me to the battery stihl (perhaps I want to maximise my speed charger and spare battery)?!

 

A further dilema is that I also now require a much larger saw as I keep killing my baby stihl 231
