Added checkerplate to ours. Rings still easy enough to slide over the top but hold still when under pressure.

Also it was the only piece of steel sheet I had lying around :001_smile:

if theres two ways to jump I'm guaranteed to jump wrong

 

You could jump both ways by having a smooth plate which is easy sliding for the big rings and have a piece of chequer plate secured with a couple of bolts with wing nuts for the more manageable sizes.
