Petzel vertex. v. Stein kask

Just bought a new vertex vent helmet... Sick of replacing ear defenders on my kask.

Gave the kask to one of our groundies, he's well chuffed.

Loved the quality of the kask but couldn't live with the hassle.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Never replaced them on mine. I would happily buy another.

Not had a problem with ear defenders, but the foam inserts soak up sweat like a sponge. Doesn't make putting it back on much fun, and it stinks after no time. Not used a petzl but thinking about getting one soon.

I'm using the petzl vertex, I tried the stein for a week or so and found the ear defenders didn't sit flat so didn't really block out much noise (msa sordin ear defenders), it sits on your head better than the petzl but I found it felt much heavier and a bit itchy and sometimes pulled on your hair a bit, hope this helps

Best method for cleaning helmets is the dishwasher on a 35degree wash. Comes out like new.

The stein/kask is a great lid but i am also sick of replacing the adaptors for the fittings

Never owned a kask helmet but worn one on the odd occasion, felt heavy didn't like the foam inserts. I have had pretzels for the last 5 years tough hat very comfy
