The shooting RA thing can be got around by drinking all the after dinner port for breakfast....

Falling deadwood? Pah! You should see some of our dogs and women beaters!

Falling deadwood is really only the concern of the beaters anyway..... :001_tongue:

The access is 'easier' traffic control is more a problem though :001_smile:

Forcing people to maintain trees that shouldn't have to be maintained will make people think along the lines of just felling them to have done with it.

Th idea of maintaining countryside / woodland trees is redicidudulous

Let me put it another way, how would you feel if you owned 50 acres of woodland, with no public right of way.

One day the council comes along and puts a public footpath sign up which goes right through it.

All of a sudden, your 50 acres of woodland starts to cost you money.

You have to have Public liability insurance

Start a regime of tree maintainance and keep a record.

Deadwood all trees along the footpath, take out any DDD's

Keep up to footpaths, stiles and fencing

Put up signs

oh, and it robs woodland birds and bats of their habitat, one little thing people don't think about.

Your quiet enjoyment of your woodland could suddenly turn into a very expensive hobby. Especailly if you weren't a tree surgeon.

falling dead wood on a shoot , falling pheasants ,,, RA that one oh & then the beater- guns. combo add in the port & the

lets face dick chainey shot someone with a twelve bore didnt he ? whilst shooting

My shoot is one of the safest shoots in the country..

That said, you cannot eliminate risk. I was withing two feet of being shot at 20 yards last year, a guest gun neglegently discharged his gun at my feet and then in his panic to make safe his gun pointed it straight at my head whilst trying to open it again.

I calmy asked him to point his gun in another direction :001_smile:
