Dremel alternative.

I'm looming for a small but powerful high speed hand tool like a Dremel.

 

Any have any good suggestions??

Hi I have dremel and can't fault it it all depends on how much you are willing to spend and how long you want it to last???

Aldies<dremel and then theres boshe and all the rest in between.

Must admit i like the look of boshe rechargadle one as it runs of the same batteries as the drills.

Imo spend a bit more it lasts longer and your happier with the tool

The cordless dremmel is the mutts, Ive had one a few year & it is powerful, fast, & reliable.

Do you need mains or battery power ? You could run a small mains one from an inverter and your car battery.

it would only be used at home, would prefer a mains one.

I killed my aged Dremel recently and bought a cheap Argos mains knockoff with a big box of tools, flexible extension etc. for about £25. Works almost as well, will quite obviously not last as long. Unless you know you're going to use it a lot, experimenting with a budget machine has something to recommend it. Then again, I have zero brand snobbery.

I've got a cheapy B&Q Dremel substitute. Don't use it that much, but it's done fine for me over 5 years or so - no problems at all.

having looked for alternatives, I've found a Dremel 4000 from B&Q for £75, which seems good value.

 

think I'm going with that.
