Seeking suppliers close to North Hampshire as possible so I can collect, although can arrange collection if needed.

Seeking a quantity of black walnut shavings, (Only black walnut not mixed)

At a push, offcuts will do as I'll soon turn them into shavings.

 

Not looking for solid finished black walnut, only the shavings.

Black Walnut is a natural way to kill some species of parasite when it is used in a smoker

Again not meaning to pry, just being nosey. What sort of parasites? My dad is into natural cures and stuff. Like he plants a row of onions between carrots to ward off carrot fly and stuff like that.

If you put together cedar planks & black walnut shavings both wanted, Id guess bee keeping.

 

Black walnut shavings are often burnt to create the smoke used in making the bees compliant/dozy etc.

The next curiosity question... when you say you want cedar do you mean Cedrus genus or Western Red Cedar, Thuja genus? I ask because I knew someone who was doing decent trade milling WRC for beehives.

Hi Jon - WRC would certainly work well.

Looking to buy a quantity as I have a lot of hives to build ready for spring next year.

Might not be suitable for your requirements but I am grinding a walnut stump next week I think. Would the cleaner chips from the grinding be any good for you. Just a thought.
