Same here- but Stihl.

My 291 has gone back to the dealer they have twiddled the carb, within the constraints of the grey caps fitted to the adjustment screws- they can't make it run either, they are ordering some £1k+ tool from stihl to remove the caps and then tune it without ( so what is the point if the caps)

What a bag of ...

I will just keep buying used off ebay- so far, 100% more reliable.

£1000 tool? It's £10! It's either a really thin Allen key, or a pair of pliers!

In both cases, it sounds like your dealers are not kitted up for the work on new type saws, can't be bothered to work on the saws, or don't know how.

used to get them adjustment screw limiters on some cars i used to work on years ago, when they had carb's.

they where a pain and mostly ended up removed from the carb.

as well as an array of different tools we used to have to make to adjust the carb.

i will put this saw back together at some point, probably end up fixing it myself by the looks of it.

makes me wonder if the shop i took it to have the spline tool to adjust the carb.

i put the saw back together today.

cut slots in the carb screws, started it up with the screws about 2.5 turns out which sounded to lean so at 3 turns out it was much better, now it will tickover nice.

it also revs up on w.o.t so i have to put the chain and bar on and give it a go

so far so good, wish me luck

Echo might be worth a look Japanese and no electronic carbs!

The new kit with lean running carbs all suffer with poor running and that's why we have seen a massive rise in the sales of Aspen.

Hope you have it fixed.
