I find that with base anchors you have twice as much rope in the system so twice as much stretch as well as flex from the tree coming into play. I like my ropes as static as possible without losing suppleness. I like being able to tie a knot in my rope.

Indeed, anyone ever thought of trying a dynamic base tie off? Like the CE lock. Our ropes are classed as static and as such I would not want to take a fall on either semi or fully static lines.

For me though I prefer a semi static as I find full static lines harder on my body. I hated my cougar blue for DdRT and it pretty much sat in a bag unused for a year, although I am finding a new love for it in single line use.

I think in the future the emphasis will be on climbing on devices that don't crash your body and the rope can be as static as you want. A device that starts to slide at around 400 lbs feels like a pillow regardless of how static the rope is

Cougar blue is what I've used over the past 2 years which has performed well other than flattening out a little. I am loving my new 70 mtr hank of Kernmaster & it is now my favourite rope.

So I'm about to buy another rope, 50 or 60 metres.

Is the general consensus still that Cougar Blue is the best 11.7mm for SRWP?

Or U.S. poison ivy:sneaky2:
