If you are in the woods all the time and the ground is steep then use a trailer crane, having said that roof mounts are more stable than you think, they just feel wobbly..

FWIW I have bought a lot of stuff off wilsons and never had any issues.

and BTW TCD my new tractor was no where near 90k! more like 60.... and .I only bought the crane from wilsons, the tractor was from John Bownes

Hi, how much extra were electric controls? Thanks Carl

Sorry to hear that Tom, I've had my fair share of breakdowns over the years and they were all private purchases.

It's frustrating for sure when the sales team and customer complaints department are polar opposites. What was the faults?

Good to see you back on the forum aswell:thumbup1:

mostly hydraulic related, on the crane TBH, which was sold as fuly refurbished. Certainly it had all new pipes and pins etc, but it has always crept and sometimes the grab gives up, as well as some electrical gremlins, which must be expected to a certain degree, but what i have issue with is their lack of interest in any way towards helping out.

I have always been lurking in the background haha

Invariably the fact that it came from where it did and the pack of lies that it came with which range from it being fully serviced , the cab was still littered with broken glass , it was missing a n/s mirror , the front n/s hub was leaking , the pro sensor was not attached or even had a spade connector on the end oh and the warranty is not worth the paper it was written on . Oh and when asking about the warranty and what it covers I was told ( not so politely) to go away and that the company was not interested .

My mechanical problems have gone away since a I've found a new ag mechanic, he works all hours , mobile and knows his stuff, and what he doesn't know he finds out. I'm away from keeping things shiny to keeping them working.

Getting a rubber ear from someone who has sold you stuff is frustrating for sure:thumbdown:

Imagine our amazement when the slew rams started leaking , our local hydraulic company come out to fit new seals only to find that the slew cylinders are scored as the last person to have been in there had gripped the floating rams in a vice resulting in a burr that has scored the inside of the slew cylinder . This resulted in a very costly bill to have four more made . Like I previously said this machine was advertised "as fully refurbished in out Delbeattie factory" but apparently they don't consider an integral part such as a slew box to be part of being fully refurbished !!
