Yeah I think the ivecos dont look as though they carry weight very well could do with uprated springs I suppose.

i have a daily & will piss on a transit for payload & pulling ability, will carry 2 ton & pull a plant trailer & tracked chipper :001_tongue::001_tongue: but only does 6o mph flat out which is fast enough for me :001_cool:

I've had two cabstars, one Isuzu 3.5 ton truck, transits etc etc , cabstars take a lot to beat, my mate had a canter downside very poor carrying weight [legally]

lads down the council yard don't rate iveco's at all...

theres no way it will carry 2 ton legally. also my comment about it showing the weight was purely visual. it would certainly pull it fine!

who siad it was legall ? most arb trucks weigh 2.5 t emty then staff & kit 3t so most arb trucks pay load is about .5 off a ton & how many nip back to the yard to tip there half ton off & go back for another half ton ???

ive got a cabstar i love it cab is cramped but its hard as nails and fits anywhere better for firewood than a transit biggest downside is they dont go offroad at all i rate them but dont leave home without a toe rope cause your bound to get stuck atleast twice a week.

do you have the new or old shape? i sat in the new one the other day and was surprised how much room there was.

i tell you what does look nice, is the nissan interstar....too bad it only comes as a panel can, that would make a lovely chassis cab

if your looking at keeping it for a while bear in mind that canter's arent very reliable once they get a few miles on them, & part prices are absurd, i have a customer who has 3 of them, i make him purchase all the parts so he cant suspect me of bumping the prices up!! cabstars are good as far as reliability goes, have you thought about other makes at all?? not much in the weight range i know, sprinters are rare but worth considering, ldv isnt a contender!! transits can be troublesome. avoid 2000-2002-gearboxes/axle problems, renault, citreon & vauxhall really are bad, fiat is no go either!! cabstar or sprinter then!! if you do lots of motorway miles then go sprinter, ideally 110-130 bhp, but they are rare, cabstar may well be your best bet, cheers
