After 15 years un broken membership I find I am a valued gold member. This basically means I am on their mug list and they think I am paying double this year. I need recovery on three vehicles including vans and often trailers. In southern ireland at least once a year. Two years ago I kept it down to £75 but latest bill is £150. What deals have other people found. I like the AA blanket cover as I change vehicles often.

i ring them and haggle for a discount they will do it my last bill was 140 and got it back to 93 and that was after i had renewed they just refunded me the money.

they will ALWAYS give you the introductory offer for your renewal - ring them up - press the 2 on your dial which is the "I wish to cancel my cover option" and you will get it.

A A and RAC have the best cover out of all of them

Check out ADAC, they use the AA in the UK anyway. Europe wide cover, no restriction on vehicle age for euro travel, my last bill was ~£80 I think, only downside is speed of long distance recovery, you get taken to garage and stuck in a hotel before they do a longer recovery if I remember correctly.

I pay £8.63 per month for RAC home, away, and abroad :) It's an added extra to my insurance :)

Does this cover more than one vehicle. I have cover for 2 days free abroad if I contact them but just hate the whole ringing call centres thing so they can try and sell you something else. I like the idea of your covered abroad period. I think for 2 weeks cover in france AA wanted and extra £90 ea time.

I've just switched to the RAC after the AA hiked mine up and also said they would not cover any van they suspect it being used for business or any trailer unless its caravan.

RAC was 140 for me on a buissness policy and I had to take out a caravan policy for the trailer.

That covers me and the misses in any car were in and from home and delivery to anywhere in UK

I'm with Green Flagg mayday service through the caravan club it covers me in any vehicle, My partner is covered too plus there are no restrictions on outfit size if your towing unlike aa and rac they even recover you if your stuck on soft ground. I think its £89 quid.
