Making a Prussik Loop

If you'd twatted your elbows using a Prussik for years you may think differently.

Also, look at all the top guys out there, are they still on Prussiks?

That should tell you something.

It's akin to taking a bowsaw up with you instead of a 200.

I know some awesome climbers that still use a prussik I don't knock them for using it.

I use a lockjack just to make things easier for me I'm touching 30 so I'm trying to be proactive.

The prussik to these guys I'm on about is a tool to do the job they do and go home they're not interested in mechanical aids because they do the job fast enough and happy enough on a prussik.

Learn to tie one.

It's really not that difficult.

It really isn't but I thought it was a prerequisite of the climbing nptc I'm pretty sure I had to tie one 10 years ago for my test.

I'm not knocking the OP I'm just bemused that you are a qualified climber and climb on a basic knot that you you don't know how to tie

How good would they be if they used a hitch that was much better though?

I've thought about that but then I think they'll be in the same situation with a friction hitch or a mechanical device they'll still be waiting for the groundsman to either tidy up or leave a pile of brash

But if you don't know how to tie one how do you your prussik is loop is safe to climb on pre tied or not

It started as a baby, I would touch things, bite things and fall about a lot.

As time went on , I didn't fall or bite as much.

I remember trying to tow my mate on his grifter and me on my go cart with my mums washing line, it broke, so we doubled it up, it broke again, so we quadrupled it, it broke so we stole my dads duct tape and wrapped it in that, it never broke but my wee legs weren't powerfully enough to tow that bad bit bike, and it was stuck in 3rd and mate couldn't pedal it.

Then I had a goat, and I'd take it walks up the hill, and then 1 day I crossed a burn and it wouldn't budge, stubborn was my Snowy!

So after a lot of pushing and shoving, goat still wouldn't budge.

So I walked back as far as I could, the rope was about 30ft long, and I gave it a good pull, hey presto goat over water.

Then it was rope swings, flymoing big bankings, towing broken down Xr2's out of ditched, then it was trees out of burns with tractors and chains .

Then 1 day I tried climbing, I looked at this little looped chord , stuck my foot in it and pulled the other end, and thought, that'll do:)

Mark, I'm not bothered about what the guys with go pros use to climb, I do my own thing, it works, it's always worked and I'm good at it.

I've tried the others, I persivered , I didn't like, I went to what I know.
