45x60 net 'filler'

We are filling lots of nets and could do with a way of making the process faster. I've come up with the idea of some sort of tube that fits the nets so they can be filled quickly.

 

25l drums are close to the diameter but not tall enough.

 

Anybody got their own designs/tricks?

if you get two 25 ltr cans cut the bottom off both of them,

 

and then cut the top off one of them

 

get some pvc glue you put on waste pipes

 

smear the glue on the outside of the open end of the drum with the top still on it

 

slide the drum with no ends down the outside to the desired height

 

push the sides in until bonded

 

then when bonded you can cut to what height you want

 

but you must glue as i say or else you will have an edge inside when you turn the drum up to fill the net it will catch when you tip the drum up to fill the net

Just bagging logs in 45x60 carrot nets, I'm getting on average 35/37 nets of 8" softwood logs to a full IBC cage.

thats something i had thought of but wasnt sure of the best way to stick them together. will try and save some drums then so they can be modified for a different purpose.

i get 35 ish nets to a cage too.

Get some thick plastic sheet from builders. Cut to size and make a couple. Roll up, stuff in net and let go. Better than plastic containers. Works for me

I messed around with tubes, cut out oil cans etc, but finally made this bagging table up. The main tray is just a folded piece of 3mm steel, (welded at the back) got that made for about 30 quid in a local engineering place, i made the rest. Having a table attached means i can fork up 2 or 3 bags worth at a time from the floor, thus no bending up and down to fill tray as i bag.
