Unforuntatly can't do much about the rope size. I have just got a new one, that my boss has paid for and can't afford to get one myself and then buy a sj/lj.

Don't think ill be going to any shows apart from apf but that isn't until sept! :( I have got chance to try the sj out, but just not a lj and don't know anyone

Who has one. Just wanted a comparison.

As a commercial climber I really think you cannot go wrong with a Hitch Climber, it is so versatile and tuneable with a few unique tricks up its sleeve.

Lock/spider jacks, zig zags and a host of SRT devices are also all very good tools. Hell even a humble Prussik can be a simple efficient system.

Your also going to struggle to get the best out of either device on 13mm rope mate

I'd have to agree 11mm is the only way forward for LJ or SJ. I had 11mm with my HC and it was epic until I had to change to 13mm......

Yeh maybe one day will get chance of a 11mm rope but not for now :(

Anyone know the difference between spiderjack 2 and 2.1? Are the the same apart from dyneema kit?

I tried both at the arb show and was really torn between the two, the simplicity and lever of the lockjack did it for me. Spent yesterday trying it and loved it, will definitely take some getting used to though! Can't be as rough with the grab to descend as I was with the prussik! Haha
