the remnants of Goosberry galls (Andricus grossulariae) from this Turkey oak.

 

think there's two forms of this one, the small gooseberry type ones that develop on the catkins have left this gall carpet on the floor.

Hi

Took this piture today of a customers tree, was wondering If the Galling kills the branches!!

 

 

 

Not galls here, more like branch cankers.

These can be weak points on the branch and lead to failure via snapping.

 

Can't really get the tree species in the shot?
