New Ford Ranger

I`ve got a 13 plate ranger, with the 5 cylinder 3.2 engine, been pleased with it.

I did have a problem with it during last winter, when the outside temp was low the dash would flash on and off, fixed under warranty, dealer gave a courtesy vehicle while sorting it.

A good ride and drives nice even on the rough roads around here, an easy drive on motorways as well.

Positively surprised with the off road performance on the road bias tyres.

Have got 2 rangers.one single cab with canopy and double cab for best. Both 13 yrs old. I would,t have brought a new one over the last 4 or 5 yrs but I think they have sort'd all the problems they had and are good as the old ones used to be:thumbup:

The dash problem appeared to be little know as fords warranty specialist come to have a look at it.

Problems I've heard people talk about like the high gearing, and like, seem to have been addressed.

Cheers craig and 5 shires. I have driven the limited with the 3.2 engine but that is a bit more money so I'm test driving an XLT 2.2 150hp one tomorrow, I'm not botherd about heated seats and that lot, electric windows and air con will do as even the real basic model is a major upgrade compared to my Hilux. The waiting list is pretty long on these things if I orderd one this week it won't be delieverd till August at the earliest.

The only or their trucks I would look at when and if I change would be Isuzu and vw. Both are very good. But it's all about the quality build and drive. Fuel consumption not that important. They are all roughly the same. But my 2001 rangers have been that good for me it would be difficult to change. But still Would't touch any rangers from 2008 up to 2013.

The Ranger has come out tops in all magazine tests I have read and whilst the waiting list was 12 months, a salesman I was talking to last week said it was now down to 4 months (and 2 of that is the time it takes to get it shipped from South Africa). There are quite a few in service with utility companies, mountain rescue, the fire brigade and apparently the army took a sizeable batch of them too.

If you own more than 5 vehicles Ford will give 4k off if you buy 2 you get another 4k off. Basically if you run a small fleet big discounts

That does,t surprise me they learned from there mistakes and listened to all the feed back they got. Just a shame there prices went up so much and made them bout 10% bigger then the old ones.:confused1:
