Husky combi-can leaking fuel spout

The solid husky cans are crap, stihl ones are better, yet I have had the same problem with the black spouts splitting at the base , it's like an over tightening problem but the plastic is just weak, bad batch of them I guess as I've had a few, always had them replaced free of charge.

I also use a white see through anti spill fuel only can for when out strimming that has a red flip out spout and a red flip out tap that you push in to release the fuel it also has a large main cap to help filling.Ill have a look to see if it has a makers name on it as its a fab can better than both the Husky and stihl.Been tipped over in the back of the truck and never leaked just a shame its got no oil bottle but i still use it on a lot of my jobs.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their responses. Glad (sort of) that it's not just me. Looks like I'll be getting a Stihl one - much easier if I have to mix a batch of pump fuel up, too, 'cos I'll be able to see the level in it (I generally use Aspen). I wonder if the Aspen will help avoid the cracking of the spouts?

I've used two Stihl cans with 'non-spill' spouts and both have dribbled on the way to filling the saw and while filling the saw. At least with the Husqvarna combi, when things are lined up right, you get the full, well almost 5L in the saw. Not over the saw, over the ground and sloshing around the spill-box in transit.

It is the petrol making the plastic go hard and brittle.

Aspen won't damage plastics or rubbers so yes they will last longer.

Did you know we do a none spill spout for our 5 l cans?

Much as I agree with the second paragraph and the first may well also be true. I always run my saw on Aspen and my Husky combi has only ever had Aspen in it. So in my case at least, it's not the fuel to sealing washer issue.

Why on earth do Husky mould their cans, so the threads are incomplete on both sides? So the thread is not continuous, which then allows the spout to slip sideways on fitting.
