Morning all, over the weekend I treated myself to the t540 and was wondering if you need to set the auto tune like the book says?? I have a 550 and I just started it up first time I used it and cracked on with it, it's been bullet proof. Does it really need to be set first use?

Thanks

In reality it should set itself to the conditions due to it constantly adjusting . How ever , and this is just me , I like to give it full wellie in some big stuff just so that should that situation occur its ready for it if you see what I mean . Probably rubbish but in my mind it works ! I have 2 auto tune saws , 560 and t540 and did that first time out . Take the spark screen out as well to free it up a little .

I would.. I thought the same but when I used it it spluttered and bogged down a bit, set the auto tune as per instruction manual and its been a dream since.. you'll love it :D

Just bought one too. Got a stihl chain fitted and cuts very well, although that chain came off today (second day on the job) and destroyed some of the links. How are you guys getting on with the techlite bar? The paint came off on the first day so bit worried about it's longevity?
