Some rope manufacturers advise against pressure washing as it tends to push dirt deeper into the rope.

 

Others suggest that ropes should not be spun, but air dried.

 

Most suggest a maximum of 30 degree C on a delicates cycle, using a mild non-bio detergent.

 

Brush dirt off the rope before washing.

I've had it a few times. Mrs doesn't want it in the machine and don't have time to sit down the laundromat. Ended up buying 2 new ropes because of it. Finally got the old sap ropes out the other day after 12 months and after a little bit of work they were back to how they were before being all sapped up. Now I've got a choice of 5 ropes.
