I was a 346 addict mate, I've had 3 and loved everyone.....until I tried a 550xpg, awesome saw and as good if not better than a 346. I know of a guy who managed to buy a brand new 346 XP and paid £700 + for it. My advice would be try a 550 and see for yourself.

A lot of the work we do is having to chop up the trees once they are down. This being because we can't get chippers onto site for different reasons. Anyone used a 550xp for things like that?

I would think most people chop up trees with them mate;) lol, I run a 15" bar on mine and its sweet. You could put a 18" if you want or that's when the 372 comes out.

My saw is a 2014 550xpg, blows a 346 into next week.

It seems that a ported 346 out cuts a standard 550 , this from a recent post . I was pleased to hear it as I have a spud ported 346 . I did not do the test by the way :001_smile:
