A lot of the work we do is having to chop up the trees once they are down. This being because we can't get chippers onto site for different reasons. Anyone used a 550xp for things like that?

I was a 346 addict mate, I've had 3 and loved everyone.....until I tried a 550xpg, awesome saw and as good if not better than a 346. I know of a guy who managed to buy a brand new 346 XP and paid £700 + for it. My advice would be try a 550 and see for yourself.

I would think most people chop up trees with them mate;) lol, I run a 15" bar on mine and its sweet. You could put a 18" if you want or that's when the 372 comes out.

It lighter than the 346 then? I think my next saw will be a newer 550 or perhaps something a bit bigger, can never have to many! If I can get this last of the 346s il be happy as I know where I am with them.

It seems that a ported 346 out cuts a standard 550 , this from a recent post . I was pleased to hear it as I have a spud ported 346 . I did not do the test by the way :001_smile:
