Has anyone had any experience transporting saws on ferry's?

I'm visting my sister in Ireland in a couple of weeks and am wanting to take a top handle and a ground saw over with me to do some work.

I am travelling in a car and will be draining the tanks before hand.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

they like them empty and dried out of any fuel and oil. and you should mention that you do have things that had fuel in.

i had some stuff to bring back from channel islands and we were going to drain all the fuel and oil and wrap in bubble wrap and seal so nothing leaked.

i think if you drain them and dry out with a cloth you should be fine as its like a new saw.

You will be fine. There will be more worrying things on the ferry like fuel tankers.

If it's in your car there is no problem. Just don't get them out and start waving them around I guess.....

contact the company involved, they all have different policy's. i was stopped when taking a genny to jersey they said we could not board, then i showed them the email confirmation.........
