Logsplitter advice please

I'm looking at buying a portable splitter that I can use in a number of locations and so ideally needs its own power supply and can be moved relatively easily.

The ones I've seen so far are from Fuelwood (woodline WL13) and Ryetec (Super Maxi DE Car)

Has anyone experienced using any of these?

Are there any others that I should look at?

Also looking into bench saws with own power as well, any advice welcome

Thank you

I have precisely the same need at the mo; been told the cone type pto driven splitters are much better i.e. a Hy-crack machine. Means a 20hp+ tractor tho... decisions decisions...:001_smile:

There are loads (too many!):

If you watch some of the videos on utube of the hi-crack splitters, they look slow.

I just sold a thor sptter with a 2 speed hyd ram that worked real quick.

This splitter looks like a cracker.

Most of the wood i cut is 'off farm' condition so to speak, and i found it hard getting a splitter to suit. The wood varies from 4 to 20 inch dia, and it can be rough enough, so i made one to run off my mini digger.

It pushes out over 17ton with a fixed cross head on it. It's nowhere near as fast as a processor, but i can fill and stack 2 builders bag an hour with it.
