Thanks Dervish, I'll ahve a look for those eyes. I used a small blowtorch I borrowed of a friend. I think it turned out ok, I'm gonna post photos later, will.

 

eyes off ebay i suspect is easiest

try to get a blwotorch with te hottest flame you can afford. cheep is not good

mapgas is great but expensive

Thanks for that Rob. I here you are the man to talk to about chainsaw bars ! the saw i'm using at the moment is an AMA Th 25.10 . The bar I'm using at the moment has a tip of about 3/4 inch but I'd like something a bit smaller if you could recommend something that would fit it. plus what would bar and chain cost posted to Rep of Ireland ?

I think it looks great! How do you treat one of these things so it will withstand the elements? I'm sure there are tons of linseed oil and the like, but still -- rubbing an intricate piece like that would take a long time to get even coverage. I suppose it would be sprayed on ...
