Most likely a dropped valve, could have caused loads of damage or hardly any, ive seen them with bent conrods, smashed pistons at worst, at best a bent valve. Lots of people find them a pain in the arse to work on but i dont mind them.

I had one like this that fooled me into thinking it was a dropped valve.

But what had happened was that the clutch drum bearing had failed. One of the balls from the bearing had found its way round the back of the flywheel where the magnet had pulled it into a little hole in the flywheel, but it stuck out far enough to jam the flywheel against the block casting and stop full rotation.

Worth a look.

yep, i will check that in the morning. Thanks

If it is the valve sounds like a new engine then?

To be honest i wouldn't be that upset, never did like the machine. Hopefully the newer ones are better?

The 4 mixes are pretty simple if you have any knowledge on working on cars they're straight forward. I have finished rebuilding a fs90 that broke the piston off the rod. Id check the rockers to see if it has dropped a valve.
