im in need of a timber trailer around 10 or 12 tonne what is good value for money with a good crane

It really depends on what you will be using it for the most - wiggling though the woods, running btween the woods and a yeard or moving wood round the yard/loading the processor deck.

Also, don't forget the weight classes are gross weight and are usually fairly optimistic at that. Typically with 3m firewood/chip you'd be lucky to get more than about 6T on a 10T trailer.

Nothing that size is going to be particularly cheap, but I'd be looking at something like the Farma range - some of their larger stuff looks pretty good. Botex are a good all rounder but unless you're playing with big sticks are quite slow on bundles of smaller roundwood.

Don't know if they still do them, but the Palms stuff from M large were not badly priced at one point.

Agreed. New Farma stuff is really quite nice and Botex over-rated planet lifters, innapropriate for mini-log and smaller. Botex is an arb crane, not forestry.

Its worth just keeping an eye on that, some people (us) rate trailers on capacity. So our 14 ton trailer is rated to carry 14 ton, gross weight is nearer 18 tons with a big crane.

True what you say about the weight of the timber you will actually get on there, its very hard to actually get 14 tons of timber on a 14 ton trailer!

Supplied the 10 ton cap trailer as in the pic with 6.7m crane for £14k+vat

What length can that trailer take and can they be made to any length

The 10 ton capacity trailer in the picture has a bed length of 3.8m, and an optional 0.5m extension.

I can custom build extensions up to 1.2m.

So mas bed length of 5m. With a 1m overhang thats 6m long timber.
