last night came in from a hard days graft.and the phone rang..

this old dear gave me such a ear bashing and asked when was i was going to return to finish the work on her trees and shrubs,as she had paid up front..

i asked her for her name and address and then checked through my paper work to see if she was right?????

i then replyed sorry love iv never done any work in that area for a while...

she then went on to give me another ear bashing.....

i hung up on her.. and thought nothing more than a wrong number..

then this morning i called in to see her... and it was a wrong number...

it was a company trading with a similar name to me....:scared1:

she appologized straight away, saying she thought i was the other company.....

we then had a chat about the work and price the other comany had done....

she stated the other company kept on fobbing her off.....

she showed me the other companys card and the price she paid....

(i know who you are lads.......what cowboys:thumbdown:)

i told her that she should never pay up front and always try and get a reciept if possible....

i just cant belive the lengths some people will go to, to rip off some old lady...

SHAME ON YOU...................:mad1:

Its a shame you cant name & shame them on here with photos of there work.

I don’t think you should name and shame on here until you hear the full story from said accused. I’m not condoning this sort of behaviour (and if the old lady was ripped off then they deserve an empty order book for years to come)

Have had similar problems with one in my area. Has changed his name to one that is similar to mine which has confused quite a lot of people.

I have quoted then they have lost my card / number etc. They have then looked up said 'tree surgeon' in the yellow pages/thompson local and called the wrong company.

To my disbelief, aleged however as I cannot prove it as customer did not want to name and shame, they asked for me by name. Were told I was not available so they would send one of my 'operatives' down. Did the work I quoted for and took the job.

Can't do a thing about it without proper evidence.

Every dog has his day however. Am watching him like a hawk.
