Its a great saw andrew, plenty of power, sounds brill and looks great, far better than a 261, as good as a 550xp but no electronic gizmos! Will be buying more in due corse.

The 5105 is quite a bit heavier than the 550xp, and the handling when limbing and such is clumcy, due to the bulky design with an inboard clutch.

Absolute crap Nico. 5105 best conifer harvesting saw there is in its size. 550xp lacks sparkle. 5105 has it in bucketloads.

For a few grams, I'd rather have a few more muscles in my arm with extra firepower in my hands thanks very much.

Please please please go use both for a month each, cutting all day every day and give us a break from the drip-drip-drip boring same old same old official specification information overload.

Old, heavy and slow - based on the reports I have seen.

Please SawTroll, do your fact checking.

Check the weight on both saws per kw without bar and chain. And check the durability during testing.

Of course my 5105 is heavier. There's a bigger bar on it because it has the power to move it and there are no parts falling off or engines that fail while on the job!

Major Torque advantage to the 5105; power 0.2kW higher too. On paper aswell :001_tt2:

Wolter,

What is the main difference between the 5000 that I have and the 5105?

Cheers

Paul

hello paul there are a few differences the PS5000 is a semi-pro saw and the PS5105 is a proffesional

ps 5000 has plunger button, and some have de-comp valve , different coil some clutch assemblys are different , the carbs have two different variations and it has the red top cover, and non cat muffler

but most body parts are used on both models so the PS 5105 gains 0.2kw of power over the PS5000

hope this helps
