Hi guys.

I am looking to sell on my wood chip for biomass and was wondering who you use and what deal you are getting, I have moved on one load via stobarts but not a great price.

I'm based in Glasgow so any local guys it would be great to hear from you.

Cheers

Possibly Jenkinsons (got a yard at penrith/lockerbie) or Wm Nicol of Lochmaben both hual a lot of chip, possibly ACC, Annandale Coal Company, beatock or abington too has a lot of curtain siders on the road

I take it ur woodchip is from a proper biomass chipper and not just a normal wood chipper?

Looking into biomass for myself and seemingly it's a different type of chip. Is that right?

They will take chip from any chipper, but the price is not great.

If your chipping brash you will not get great chip, even with the best chipper, you need to be chipping timber to get good chip.

Guys,

Thanks for your feedback,I will give some of the companies a call and see if I can get a better rate.

Slack: the chip is mixed as it is from our tree surgery

Country boy: my chip is from a normal chipper, don't know if it makes a difference in the rate I'm just looking to offload the chip rather than pay tip charges at the green waste site.

Karl: stobarts were only offering £5 per ton but I know another local guy who was getting £8 so I'm looking for the best deal for both me and the farmer.

Again guys thanks for your input.

if its clean chip hardwood then pay a premium softwood diffeerent price and if its mixed with leaves pay the lowest as have to sort it to move on to the biomass boys. and it has to be stored on clean concrete. if they find forign stuff in it will refuse to load or if found other end will not pay you.

looked at it but it was not worth the effort for £3 per tonne.

local firm who do take it having trouble shifting it and now charging to dump.

looks as if the biomass bubble is about to burst.
