Spotted it on a very mature Pear yesterday.

 

Any ideas?

Picture 3 looks like a shield bug. 1 and 2 look like some kind of moth maybe.

I would have grabbed that and got it to the local lepidopterist group ASAP, or the NHM it looks potentially like a sphinx moth (not present in the Uk to my knowledge) from the first two pics but the third pic does look more beetle like, certainly not like anything i have come across before, do you carry any tubes for collecting inverts Monkeyd?

Yes i know i am saying the first two dont look like a shield bug. You should of sent it to forest research like i did when i found a longhorn beetle from china it was huge.
