So my Brushcutter up and melted...

turns out the outer shaft has a small kink in it, I figure this in turn applied pressure to the plastic innershaft, pushed onto the driveshaft created a LOT of friction and melted :sneaky2:

If i can re-true the metal outer shaft (big if) is it possible to get just the plastic inner as a replacement??? or any ideas for a suitable bodge job?? obviously the plastic housing also needs replacing but that's easier to source. The drive shaft itself seems in pretty good shape (after scraping the molten plastic off!) and hasn't blued through over heating
