Evening all!! So made the decision to go self employed and contract myself out, need to get myself some of my own kit together, and on a bit of a budget, they guy I'm going to work for is happy for me to work the ground untill I get my kit sorted, so first thing on the list is rope!

Iv seen the Marlowe aeris 11mm on jones, good price for 35meter and not much more for 45...any one using this rope at the moment and how does it perform, and what set up you using as I'm looking at getting a HC set up

cheers all

I have the aeris 45m and came from xtc so big jump! Weight is great and self tends through my lock jack much easier. Works very well with mechanical kit. Very fast in a spider jack but I prefer the lock jack, would be interested to see how it is in a zigzag. I have been tempted to go to HC for a bit to see if I can get on with it.

The only issue I can see with it is it's size, doing lots of ascending hurts my hands as I'm still getting used to the thickness compared to the xtc.

I've been using this rope for about 8ish months and love it. Make sure you get the 8mm hitch cord for it and it's epic. If you then go on to a sj it's great I use it in my positioner as well and love it

Sweet cheers guys, all sounds good and fr jones do it for a great price! I'm on xtc at the moment, don't find it too bad, only complaint is it gets a bit springy after a wile...but yea positive reviews thanks!

Looking at the zig zag but would be nice to see what it can do on the HC, like I said on a bit of a budget so can't justify the money for zig zag sj ect just now

I've heard it's too thin to run through the zz and yeah after a while it does get to your hands a bit on the first few ascents

I've been using it with my zz for about 7 months, works beautifully :thumbup1:
