There are not many slivers and any there is are not that big or that thick. Most boilers have cutters on the augers anyway that will deal with any small slivers

 

The slivers are longer than 4inches, you could net them and sell it as kindling! They have blocked augers in the past.

This subject would be easily solved if the boiler manufacturers made their boilers to suit the chip that is produced not vice versa. Most biomass chippers people cannot afford, we have sold our std chippers to supply boilers but the next customer says it must be 100% or the augers will block:confused1: In my experience no Two enquiries are the same, the biomass chippers produce a large amount of fines which causes poor burn quality but no one wants to screen the product afterwards, what to do:001_rolleyes:
