I'd like to give the underside of my tipper a lick of paint. I don't think there's a prop thing so was going to use something else instead. Once I've found something suitable, do I lower the back onto the prop, or is it there just incase it fails?

Hi mate better to prop the body up as it safer mate thanks Jon

Lower it onto it. If you just put it in place and leave the tipper up, how would you know it will hold if the ram/pipes fail? The sudden drop from a falling tipper is a much greater force than the same body gently lowered onto the prop.

Be safe.

Just out of interest what paint are you going to be using? I have been meaning to do mine but it keeps getting put to the bottom of the list of things that need doing, hate painting!
