I found this meadow that i knew was there but i did not think it belonged to the estate but it does. Take a look at these gems field maple. There was also large pollarded oaks.:001_smile:

lovely stuff there david, reminds me of a lovely old A campestre veteran I found in a woodland, chap I was working for thought it'd be worth more as firewood!! I wonder how many of these old trees are lost every year to the saw?

picture 1 a pollarded elm sorry bad pic.

 

picture 2. A oak tree the girth at breast hieght is 4.6 about 15 feet.

I would like to pollard this elm this winter or i will loose it to dutch elm disease. I have lots of old pollard oaks that need re-pollarding but there is and never will be money for this sort of work. :001_smile:

If there's a will, there is a way.

 

If you've got the energy & time to both; convince your boss and write up an application.

 

Then there is money around for exactly this type of work David.
