The attachment point would be the weakest point. You could put a tearaway between the grab and your harness if you wanted. Occasionally if cutting something really big with the big saw I have unclipped the saw so that if it gets grabbed I can just let go of it.

 

I'll take a pic sometime, but its basically a bit of climbing line, with an eye on one end and a stopper knot on the other, rope grab in-between, attach the eye of the grab to your harness and you're good to go.

I would love to see a picture, or even better, a video showing how you lengthen/shorten the strop.

Would a wild country rope man and some 8-10mm friction cord do the trick? Seems a very handy idea. Can add extra length for when things get a bit twisted.

I use a snap connector instead of the ring.

I climbed for about 6 years with out a lanyard from when I started.

I had a big clip on a bit of blue rope about 12" long that was duct taped up for smoothness and strength:laugh1:

I would unclip the saw, use it and then just clip it back on.

No cut n chucking 1 handed none sense and your cuts had to be right:biggrin:

Then I got a top handle ad a bungee lanyard and it all went down hill:001_rolleyes:

I have the ct rocknlock that I can mount on to a Clevis on my harness so it sits tight.
