Need a real time tracking unit

The firm I work for had a different opinion from HR. Their view was that if it is during work hours then an employer is legitimately entitled to know where their vehicle and employee are. Outside of working hours is a different matter. Looks like it's one of those that will need testing in court before a definite decision is given. Easiest way to limit the usage is stop your employee using the vehicle outside of work. :001_smile:

Fortunately not my decision and as most employees work remotely they have to take vehicles home.

One firm I worked for had two buttons on the dash, the white one was for use in work time and the black in personal time, I don't know what they did. The same firm had cameras front and back to record driving and accidents.

You'd like to think that an employer has the right to know where his vehicle is at anytime!

Money down that it wouldn't even get to a tribunal. You'd have him bang to rights so his defence would be "if I knew the vehicle was tracked I wouldn't have done it so it's unfair dismissal"? I don't think so. Get one fitted, catch the employee and it sends a message out.
