Very life like, are u blacking the eyes out , great work .

 

 

Thought about blacking out the eyes and nose,was also liking the multi staining done on splinters's roebuck. Seeing as it is quite light coloured wood was wondering about dotting the back with something to seal spots so when stained it left light patches like a baby deer has?

Dunno yet? When I get time. Work gets in the way.

I'd not do any strong colouring piggie.. maybe burn a few spots in teh back but lightly and then oil it

 

 

Just thoughts. I tend to think the natural wood looks best anyway, and use Danish oil on most stuff cos I don't know any better.

i use decking oil. solvent based, natural tint. You can let it out a bit with diesel if you want to apply it thin. get a plant spray thing (cheep ones you pump up and pull the trigger to get a mist/spray) as it saves all that time with the brush
